Pipework Installations
Within our workshop or on site you will find the experienced PIMS team are highly skilled in fabricating and installing large bore pipework on a substantial scale. From bespoke steam and boiler blowdown water headers, right through to kilometres of bracketed and anchored piped services.
We are experienced in working with all grades of stainless and carbon steel.
External LTHW Piped Services
The distribution of the low temperature hot water and steam pipework from an Energy Centre is critical to provide hospitals and similar industries with heating, hot water and process water.
Here at PIMS we specialise is planning, integrating, and installing these. Over the years, we have completed numerous projects with over 1KM. Our external LTHW piped services can be routed externally on walls and roofs or in-service ducts or ceiling voids.
Each instance requires a different design and calculations. We will work with you to ensure the correct design for your project. We will also consider a distinct method of bracketing and controlling the expansion of the pipework depending on the fluid it carries.
Pipework Headers
Our professional employees here at PIMS regularly manufacture Steam headers for the healthcare and industrial sectors. These vary in diameter and pressure. Often the pipework headers are complex and heavy fabrications which can often weigh over a 1 tonne.
The pipework headers can range from 3M long to over 7M long. They come with dedicated brackets and steam traps along with parallel / triple offset valving arrangements.
All pipework headers are pressure tested and NDT certified in house.
Energy Centre / Boiler Piped Services
Within an Energy Centre or Boiler house the heart of the system be it a boiler or CHP Engine requires connecting pipework. Here at PIMS we will always look to integrate this. For example, at NHS Tayside Energy Centre we installed a dedicated steel framework. This was not only to provide piped services support, but it also offered crucial access to meters, sensors, and flue combustion sampling.
The services in this case included: Steam, Condensate, Feedwater, Sight Glass / TDS / Bottom Blowdown, Gas, HV / LV and Scada cabling.
Here at PIMS we believe the design and coordination of these connection services are vitally important for a safe operation of plant, but also for its sustainability in the future.
