The project installed a gas fired CHP engine and connected waste heat steam boiler into an operational boiler house.
The low-grade energy was circulated to two of the hospitals main plant rooms for pre-heating DHW and heating systems.
Key Deliverables
Design, Construction, Installation and Commissioning of two new hotwell tanks inclusive of roof removal and replacement.
Installation of a new 1.2MW CHP engine including LTHW network and 4 heat recovery stations within the hospital plant rooms. LTHW network is 500m in length.
Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of 4 new heat exchangers complete with critical shutdown requirements.
Design of the layout inside the boiler house and Engine Room to facilitate safe working operation including integration of the engine, waste heat boiler and ancillary equipment.
Phased replacement of 2 x 1MW steam – LTHW exchangers based on 24 hour operation to minimise risk to the Theatre areas of the hospital.
Process Installations were successful in completing the project on time despite a 1 month delay at the beginning of the installation.
