The regeneration of an old boiler house and services to old plantrooms meant the management of asbestos was key to this project with VITAL Energi.
Enabling Works
Extend new LTHW F&R pipework from the spare connections and route new LTHW mains within below ground service ducts.
Install new Plate heat exchangers in dispersed plantrooms with secondary circulation pumps pressurisation/expansion equipment.
Isolate, decommission, strip-out and remove from site all existing boiler house services and where required for new connections in plantrooms.
Design, Installation & Coordination
Undertake amendments to the boiler house steam services and ensure BG01 compliant.
Supply & installation of new steam supplies and isolation valves.
Supply & install new steam meters & associated pipe work on steam supply feeds from new Waste Heat Combination Boiler, 2 No. steam boilers and on the new steam supply to the hotwell sparge.
Supply & Installation of new blown down header and all new pipework, valves and ancillary services.
Supply & install new flash vessel for heat recovery of blow down from Combi Boiler, incl. all steam & blow down connections.
Supply & install all new condensate branch connections and associated trap set & isolation valves to the existing condensate system to service all new plant.
Supply & installation of 2 No. returning condensate TDS monitoring systems.
Supply & Installation of all modifications to the existing hotwells.
Supply & install 3 off feed water isolation valves & branch connections to new boilers from the existing feedwater pipework.
Connection of all mechanical services to the hotwell including steam, feed water, condensate, soft water make-up.
Install new duplex water softener and water meters.
Positioning and coordinating CHP equipment / Dry air cooler / Ventilation fan attenuators / Clean and dirty Oil tanks all all external connecting gas and LTHW piped services.
CHP & Boiler Flue installation to existing chimney.
Gas system modifications.
Commissioning and proving all services with client.

Successes
The work carried out in the services ducts was very challenging, but our site team excelled in running new services in very tight and awkard routes.
