Much like David’s walk for Marie Curie, we are immensely proud of our Document Controller Gillian; who is currently swimming her way through the “Swim 22” challenge by getting in a pool and going a total of at least 22 miles, all to raise money for Diabetes UK.
Gillian is currently getting to her local pool for 06:30 in the morning to complete lengths and is well on track to go the distance. She has now beaten her fundraising goal and is still getting donations, you can see that below.
Diabetes effects millions in the UK, it is predicted that 5.5 million people will have it by 2030. It is one of the leading preventable causes for sight loss and more than 700 people die prematurely due to diabetes each week.
Gillian would like to thank everybody for their support, as of this writing she has done so well she has 6 weeks to do 7 miles so we are hoping she can get back as well!
