Charity, health and well-being are things that have always been of importance to PIMS. Recently our Health & Safety Advisor set a great example to us all. He competed in the Trekfest the Peaks. David and wife completing this incredible challenge on 6th July 2019.
So, what is the “Trekfest the Peaks”? It is a challenge which consisted of a 50km walk in the Peak District including the climb to the peak of Kinder Scout. In fact, David did so well in the challenge, he came 34th, making the Trekfest hall of fame for coming in the top 50 finishers!
As you can see in the photo David and Laura were very pleased with themselves on completion of this challenge. We definitely think that they should be. It really is quite the challenge, and something many of us preferred hearing about, rather than doing it ourselves.
We would like to say a huge well done to Dave and his wife Laura for this incredible achievement. They raised a huge amount of money for Marie Curie, a very worthwhile charity doing great work for those they care for.
Marie Curie believe that everyone living with a terminal illness should be able to get the most from the time they have left, however hard that may sometimes feel. We were more than happy to donate money to this worthwhile cause and support David and his wife in their challenge.
Having spoken with David, our Health and Saftey Advisor, since his return – it seems this will not be his last challenge. The adrenaline is still running through his veins and he is looking out for the next challenge to compete in. Who knows that he will be doing next – or who he will be roping in to take part with him!
