The team here at PIMS are really pleased to announce that we have a quality and environment management update. We would like to welcome and introduce you to Cliff Thurgood. Clidd is our new Quality Assurance & Project Manager. He has joined us from Babcock, Wilcox & Volund where he was the Warranty Manager and oversaw the safe, efficient delivery of various power stations builds.
Cliff’s main aim at PIMS is to get us ISO 9001-14001 Certified. He will also be working as a project manager, managing the CHP plant installation’s projects.
In July 2020 we had our first ISO pre audit. During the audit we touched on all areas of the business. We are pleased to confirm that the auditors have only highlighted limited Improvement requests.
These elements that the auditors commented on are areas that we can now focus on to prepare ourselves for the final audit later this year, in September.
Cliff and his HSQE team are now implementing some great new ideas and processes for PIMS. One of these is the Quality Alert. This now process ensures that any quality issues on an installation are flagged up. As they are flagged up all staff are notified and informed. This informal process is issued as a bulletin as well as a toolbox talk for our team.
Cliff has also introduced quality plan packs for all small works. These quality plan packs detail guidance notes, item and operation tasks. These are all relatively small steps for our business however these are steps that will help take us to the next level and hopefully gain the ISO 9001-14001 accreditation for PIMS in September.
Cliff has shown himself to be an asset to our business already and we look forward to hearing more ideas and process improvements during his time with us. Every improvement made by Cliff for PIMS, is an improvement for our clients too.
