PIMS have had a great start to the year, continuing work on all aspects of our existing projects and starting several new exciting schemes.
We are currently working closely with our clients on decarbonisation proposals across multiple sites.
The Christie
Work across all fronts has accelerated at The Christie Hospital. Major steam piped services have now been routed and we are in the progress of pressure testing. A new dedicated heat pump plant platform has been installed on one of the hospitals roofs and the LTHW site distribution has commenced from this plant area.
Nottingham City Hospital
PIMS have now been on site for 18 months now the Energy Centre works are almost complete.
The Steam Boilers, Hotwells, CHP associated plant and connecting piped services are now tested and commissioned.
13 Plate heat exchangers have been installed around the hospital in local plantrooms all connected to the Energy Centre via a large LTHW distribution network.
Natural History Museum
PIMS have started work at the prestigious Energy Centre at the heart of the NHM, this Energy Centre was once part of the museum tour and still includes the original viewing gallery.
The works include replacement Absorption Chiller, new Electric Chiller and piped services, site wide pump replacement, Air Source and Water Source heat pumps and all system modifications to incorporate a new CHP install.
Drakelow Waste To Energy
PIMS have been fortunate to be part of VITAL Energies team on the Drakelow project a new energy from waste facility that will generate 18Mwe of electricity.
Our package of works included the Turbine Cooling system and was all pre-fabricated at our workshop from detailed Isometric drawings before being shipped to site to erect.
The package was delivered on time and budget, and is currently set to be commissioned.
Northwick Park Hospital
Work in the new car park Energy Centre have progressed to the point the boilers will soon be energised. Working in parallel the distribution pipework to the hospitals many plantrooms has been executed and now PIMS start to make the vital connections.
Burghley House
PIMS were recently happy to help at our local historic venue Burghley House. The estate had an emergency gas problem and we attended site to repair their main 125mm.
Our commercial gas certificated team carried out the required installation to fix the problem and ensure the Rat Race event they were holding could continue.
